    I too, awake at almost a few times a week. What I have found, is this has to do with a few different things. The body has an internal alarm clock so to speak, that if one night you woke at 3 am, the chances of waking up the next few nights grow in percentages. Talk to your doctor about your insomnia. Many people have it. I have a dozen or more strategies, including medication, and some of them work some of the time, but none of them work all of the time, which is why I’m up answering Quora questions ins.

      For a long time, I felt very strongly that being awake with insomnia at a.m. was not a good time for spiritual awaking, or, really, awakening of any kind. I wake up at am, or within minutes of that time don’t have to go to the bathroom, just wake up, suddenly and wide awake! Interestingly, I was diagnosed with hundreds of carcinoid tumors in my liver 8 years ago.

      This week I have deliberately kept myself awake, gone for a 6 klm walk, had my meds early, and still I am up at a.m. I want to present myself at a sleep lab and announce myself as a human bear.
